Taco Seasoning

4 tablespoons chili powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder*

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

1 teaspoon dried oregano

2 teaspoons paprika

6 teaspoons ground cumin

4 teaspoons salt
-
4 teaspoons black pepper
*Substitute 1 tablespoon minced onion

Mix all ingredients together

Add 1-2 tablespoons to 1lb ground beef or chicken

I use 2 tablespoons of the seasoning per lb of meat- but it's spicy! Use less if you like less heat.

I use the minced onion in place of the onion powder

I also add this seasoning to a variety of other recipes such as chicken tortilla soup, taco soup, fajitas, etc.

Store the seasoning in an airtight container.

You can double the above recipe and have extra on hand

Add less salt if you're sodium conscious

This is a much healthier and more affordable way to spice up recipes then the store bought envelopes of taco seasoning
