Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder*

  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 2 teaspoons paprika

  • 6 teaspoons ground cumin

  • 4 teaspoons salt

  • 4 teaspoons black pepper

    *Substitute 1 tablespoon minced onion

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients together

  • Add 1-2 tablespoons to 1lb ground beef or chicken

Notes:

  • I use 2 tablespoons of the seasoning per lb of meat- but it's spicy! Use less if you like less heat.

  • I use the minced onion in place of the onion powder

  • I also add this seasoning to a variety of other recipes such as chicken tortilla soup, taco soup, fajitas, etc.

  • Store the seasoning in an airtight container.

  • You can double the above recipe and have extra on hand

  • Add less salt if you're sodium conscious

  • This is a much healthier and more affordable way to spice up recipes then the store bought envelopes of taco seasoning
